Life is constantly building, doing, feeling, and being. Throughout our lifetimes, we may lead many lives. Each of them will ask us to start something new.

Tony Robbins program was a 4-day program presented to our residents and the community to enhance their life skills. Individuals who are in recovery cannot allow themselves to become overwhelmed. By this, I mean not taking on too many tasks at one time. There are numerous times when they will take on as many projects as they can handle, regardless of the circumstances. The problem with this could be something to burn them out. Individuals who are in recovery must learn to be willing to pace themselves.

There will be times when you feel you need an outside source who will be an additional resource to continue to live a life in recovery. Those in recovery must be willing to focus on the H.A.L.T. philosophy. Originating with the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) program, H.A.L.T. is one of the AA sayings and is a useful acronym for identifying potential relapse triggers. H.A.L.T. stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, and Tired. When things are bad, one of the factors is the root cause of the triggers and cravings you are feeling. You must examine yourself to see if you fall into one of these four categories.

Try using quotes as journal prompts, affirmations, or milestone checkpoints in your daily life. It’s not fair to say your worst days in recovery are better than your best days in relapse. However, your best days in recovery are miles better than your best days in a relapse.

Though it may feel like an all-consuming presence, fear is just a state of being. It is not a fact or reality that is unavoidable nor a larger-than-life entity that exists beyond your ability to navigate past it. We mustn’t grow attached to or detour around the fear we feel.

I bought a large quantity of drugs and the plan was to kill myself.
